United States people want to believe that everyone assigned into a population truly belongs there and you only need to change the standards and "culture" of the population, but in reality, everything becomes about people {{em|re-dividing populations and sorting into new populations}} in order for people to feel like they're being included. the Trotskyite conspiracy illustrates this perfectly: they're not going to compromise with anything that interrupts the act of them being them. the happiest outcome for them is they create a breakaway state with a different internal structure.
</li><li class="field_nations" data-tradition="LR, PT" data-qid="34,42" value="3442" data-dimension="S2">Illinois counties will not get to join Indiana unless they do not noticeably spread out Indiana's budget -> it's really funny that while this all started out being about "democracy" a bunch of the debate is actually hinging on taxes and which regions of states are best arranged into a balanced complex of tax granting nodes and tax receiving nodes. the rural Illinois counties try to get away from Chicago because it's making policy decisions they don't like, but then it turns out the headquarters of unpopular policy decisions are also the headquarters of tax revenue, which is to say that with the presence of "tax capital" they implicitly have more say in how the overall region is governed and both the Illinois and Indiana city areas can easily just say, nah, you can't leave our state and you can't join the other state. wow.... it's almost like rural and urban regions are part of the same republic for a reason, specifically macroeconomic reasons. throw this on the large pile of reasons that economics, politics, morality, and Freedom aren't at all separate.
