in which i first muse a bit about the ethics of the monster rancher setting, then sigh about that one time it was weirdly racist, then somehow springboard off that to creatively start rewriting the entire lore

i'm just like taking the monsterrancher lore and making conspiracy theories out of it that are totally not the way it was supposed to be interpreted but it's fun
i feel like i could one day just take my stupid alternative explanations and write a fic to just replace the bad monsterrancher show

a majin is main character of the alternate monsterrancher show and has a lodestone pointing to, xenon, why not
(which can be named byakko or xuanwu or something)
they have no gender because playable monsters in the games don't have genders and that's underappreciated and funny
Majin MC doesn't know they have powers for most of the story, it comes out later and most of it they are just Shockingly Nonstandard Protagonist Were This An Anime
possibly they have a keen sense for monster feelings and have been offered to be a breeder's assistant [mon users are often simply called breeders] but declined, not knowing why but ultimately in order to set out on this journey

there needs to be appreciation of the locations and game NPCs (or their 'character classes') because those are good
i half feel like Majin MC is kind of a wannabe version of the Exploration or Training characters in some ways, a little more likely to drift around these wilderness areas than normal places
actually. it'd be super funny if MC just kinda ends up fighting one of the 'wild monsters' and fuckign punching a giant worm or dinosaur out of their way and realising, wait i shouldn't have been strong enough to do that let alone all of a sudden, what's going on
i guess this happens while they're separated from their regular companion monster(s) and reasonably believe they're in danger
but it would be funniest if they refuse to believe that actually happened and fight monsters again. 'thats not fuckign possible i hallucinated it or at least i can't process this'

[06:04] because funny enough i do not think they would be remotely strong enough to take down one of the Big monsters like Zilla/Golem/Baku and just get squashed

real MR1 majin sucks as a whole but like, just keep the part where they're brown and have some powers it's an MC appearance 'real' MF series would never dare to have

funny enough i think they do on the show have some genki rollerskate shenanigans where humans try to fight monsters. i don't know much about the show
