Description[edit]

This is a template meant to mirror the HTML abbr tag. The purpose of it is basically to subtly remind editors that wikitext is not HTML and needs to be highly readable as well as standardized.

Parameters[edit]

  • class - For customizing the CSS classname associated with the tag.
  • tts - Pronunciation for highlighted text. Specify this first so that if screen readers are attempting to edit a page the TTS-friendly text is said before the "irrelevant" visual text which will be not be read as deleted.
  • title - Text to be shown as tooltip.
  • 1 - Text to be shown as abbreviation.
