I love it. it's a bad "good" game mechanic but a wonderful "intentionally bad" game mechanic. imagine it used in a way vaguely like grinding is used in {{game|Undertale}}, like something you're not actually supposed to do. that would be a really neat storytelling tool that could carry a really unique Pokémon story, or gimmick-RPG-inside-RPG-series story.
