     this is exactly backwards. this video lays out a somewhat clear path that goes protests, news stories, media, hiring into Disney, media. but what Gramsci originally said actually goes the other direction. what he said — or at least the common-sense reading of what he said after you're aware of Stalin — simply goes: getting into corporations, getting into Disney, media. there's no piece-by-piece build-up of previous steps, there's just one big step of connecting gay people and workers together and then there's media and it either works and ends with further shifts of public opinion or it doesn't even start.
     and it may be a little hypocritical of me to say that when I am having a really bad month where I am frustrated with Trotskyism and no longer understand if I understand how Marxism works any more, but listen, that's me giving a meta-Materialist overview of what Gramscianism says inside and how it works, not me claiming that it definitely works well. I can do meta-Marxism / meta-Materialism without believing in anything or supporting anything, I just have to understand how groups of people operate.
