Main entry

  1. The only bad business / Society needs all the businesses that aren't The One Bad One [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] -> this proposition is implicit in every single piece of media slamming a particular business or talking about regulating businesses, and it drives me up the wall. nobody can ever see a pattern in the entire set of businesses that gets slammed as businesses "you shouldn't buy from" or where they come from.
  2. The only bad business (AI businesses) / look at that terrible business owner using AI like a terrible horrible business owner we would otherwise totally need [7]

  1. You don't need an $8 coffee [8] -> technically true, but if anybody actually took this statement seriously and applied it to all the situations it applied in there would be no small businesses, and Tories everywhere would go crazy because "the big corporations took over society and now there's technofeudalism!". Tories and right-Liberals rely on the existence of small businesses, and yet some of the things they get the most upset about all come out of big businesses and small businesses both existing. if only big businesses existed it's entirely possible big coffees and avocado toast and also breakfast donuts and large sodas would go away across the board and then they'd get upset for one reason or another because 'now we don't have culture' or 'what kind of Soviet aesthetic is this'. a good one, is the answer. literally if everyone used the same products you'd get Waffle House. all the unnecessary products that cause society problems would go away and only the good ones would be left.
  2. AI slop is junk food, but 100 videos all saying the same list of bullet points against AI are not junk food -> I really don't understand normal people sometimes.
  3. don't buy from me -> the motif of a business accidentally arguing that it and its product are wholly unnecessary.
don't buy from me + ?? = "the meaning of life" is an inherently petty-bourgeois concept.
youtube public service announcement + We need to stop consumerism = don't buy from me / don't watch my channel.
  4. I'm eating stale rat bread and I can't take it any more / (9k)
