Main entry

  1. deviation from Leninism / error away from (mainstream Marxism-)Leninism

Types of errors

  1. opportunism / chasing quick superficial successes instead of looking for solid grounding in the advanced workers; what is immediately advantageous for one's own interest instead of operating on the overall body of workers [1] / opportunist error (S0 Pattern) / tailism (appropriate term in some contexts; generic) / commandism (appropriate term in some contexts; generic)
  2. tailism -> a strangely anarchist-sounding error category. of course Trotskyists in Luxemburg's era and other movements can do it too. [2]
this is a weird definition of tailism I gave but if you focus really specifically on Luxemburg saying whatever workers want is okay, or Cannon suddenly turning around and supporting the Soviet Union at the last second, both of those are instances of Trotskyists hanging out providing no real leadership and then copying what the masses or maybe the media are saying, so those two were capable of tailism. as to "anarchist"... I can only see that referring to blue anarchists and people who try to appease them. being glorified bourgeoisie a lot of the time it's no surprise they drag both charcoal anarchists and Western-Marxists way back while pretending to be groundbreaking. the charcoals have occasionally encouraged vaccine doubt and stuff too though.
  3. tailism -> may contain toxic prejudices, although that's only one of several kinds of tailism. there's easily "blue" tailism too, or "strawberry" tailism in unusual situations like Khruschev enabling Yaroshenko while Stalin doesn't tail the bourgeois style economists or peasants convinced they're workers for no good reason.
  4. In order to understand what is tailism you should look ahead to the goal of a nation-wide movement and the day all Communist allies that supported the movement are proletarianized [3]
