awgod what if it has a Slaking-style ability where it's stronger half the time and has a very annoying drawback half the time. one turn it's guaranteed to go first, always treated as having maximum Speed and all moves having Quick Attack priority. the other turn it's truant, and all of that is still true but it acts exactly like an outsider Pokémon.

this is an actual move it has. it just has a move called Roadblock or something. it can only use this move when it is either truant, asleep, or frozen, but when it uses it, every attack goes around it for that turn and it recovers some finite amount of health. this would be a super annoying move if it was easy to use, but thankfully it's not.

I guess you can use Rest or get another Pokémon to inflict Sleep in a double battle but either way the opponent still has about one turn to prevent you from getting a free Roadblock by trying to Burn or Paralyze the Pokémon or such. and the Pokémon that obstinately sits around deflecting attacks isn't the Pokémon that will be crushing the other trainer's whole team.

Bad/Fire Undead/Fire Deception Ounce.

our Trotskyist representation isn't Flame Lion. it has to be the creature with Deceive in its English name, come on. unlike normal Deception Ounce it is arrogant as hell and constantly trying to look cool; it can be stealthy sometimes but when it jumps out to fight it is super boastful. it can roar, it can brazenly breathe fire as a taunt. this is a very "Team Rocket duo" Pokémon. I could also very much visualize that one firebreather trainer from gen 1 having it.

I think this Pokémon is a little bit everywhere, just this rare spawn on approximately half of routes to gently push you to know it's there and that it's popular in its region. Has a little bit of a Ki Jackal status. But I like the idea of a dynamic where although everybody knows about it the other trainers don't even actually use it because ostensibly it's too mischievous or annoying. Only a really exceptional trainer can actually tame it. It's like Ash's Soar Lizard, except it was always like that from the beginning.

awgod what if it has a Big Truant-style ability where it's stronger half the time and has a very annoying drawback half the time. one turn it's guaranteed to go first, always treated as having maximum Speed and all moves having Quick Attack priority. the other turn it's truant, and all of that is still true but it acts exactly like an outsider Pokémon.

instead of ██████, it's RECKOWASU. wreck + kowasu, both words mean almost the same thing just like with Darkness Darkness

english name [...] Wrecker Ounce

Wrecker Ounce just blocks routes sometimes like Road Bear or False Tree, just because it can.

this is an actual move it has. it just has a move called Roadblock or something. it can only use this move when it is either truant, asleep, or frozen, but when it uses it, every attack goes around it for that turn and it recovers some finite amount of health. this would be a super annoying move if it was easy to use, but thankfully it's not.
