"What was Stalin going to do?"
1. Fight the other Communist party that also wanted to construct Bolshevism, because there were two of them
2. Protect the 14 nationalities of the Soviet Union from being scattered across the world as other countries attempt to take its land and drive its people out
3. Fight Hitler and help win World War II (he put that one off for a while)
4. Build railroads that are still standing today, in a country without highways
5. Collectivize peasants into corporations and end feudalism
6. Teach everyone science in a country where large fractions of people are uneducated (!!)
7. Prevent the economy from dissolving into a bunch of grifters (because they can't found businesses based on their own values)
