Entry-specific guidelines
- "Do not add explanations to this page actively arguing for Communism" — avoid bringing up arguments that make ordinary people angry or confused under real-world conditions. These include:
- Marxism over religion — it's hard to give a complete demonstration against religion on this entry, so any argument here for standing with Materialism because the supernatural is unexplained will doubtlessly look fake and unconvincing.
- Marxism over Liberal-republicanism — if people don't understand the difference between abstract Ideas and science they're probably not quite ready to fully parse what Marxism even is, or what Liberal-republicanism practically is.
- Arguments for Leninist theorists — if you mention Stalin, the kind of people who don't fully know what Idealism is would probably be terrified. If you mention Trotsky... well, I don't know, but that seems like a coin flip. I think mentioning "the Soviet Union" is okay given how many people were in it. You'll be able to make a decent argument that anyone that wants to delete that many people from history at once is a bigot.
- This is not a rule about arguments supporting Marxism, but a rule about arguments mentioning it.
Sub-cases in need of research (26-10)
- existentialism / early-existentialist tradition
- poststructuralism
- chaos magic (magic ritual)
I or someone needs to research exactly in what ways these are Idealisms. It's possible, but it's also possible these should be made more specific. — R.D. (talk) 02:10, 26 October 2026 (UTC)
