  1. Noelle Holiday
  2. Noelle Holiday

Themes and motifs

  1. character embodying abstract concept / (9k) -> christmas.
  2. calendar date as leitmotif -> "pronounced 12-25", although it is mostly her sister's number.
  3. Dragon Blazers -> note the dimension. fictional works of fiction may be marked S, though real works of fiction are marked Z.
  4. Noelle lives in an ice palace / The "ice palace" is significant in the narrative in that it represents some kind of transformation of Noelle's house itself into a Dark World, or at least comparison of Noelle's house to something that will exist in the Dark World [1]
  5. Shadow Mantle boss -> this character may have come from the pizza box incident, which I think was described in a blog entry.
  6. if I left... I guess (Chapter 5) / "What would happen if... I left" "you mean, like, ran away from home?" "I guess" / to go somewhere with shining lights [2] -> this seems to embody a conflict between wanting to leave Hometown (normally) and the seeming impossibility of leaving, where it seems like only death or breaking reality is the actual way to leave.
    I love the weird hyperboles made possible by fiction. nothing could capture the United States better than the concept of finding an absurd wrong warp skip

Theories

  1. Noelle will die and be resurrected / The girl will die, this holiday (prophecy panel prediction) / The girl will die winter holiday (prophecy panel prediction; Deltarune) [3] -> yeah. that is one of the most convincing predictions I've seen anybody else make for what the missing panel is. it's very likely it could mention that recurring figure "the girl" or literally make a pun on December Holiday. and Noelle getting pinned up on the cross not-really-violently is definitely hard to ignore.
    the only thing about this that doesn't work for me is that the hand holes have always been associated with Gaster. who is either the Opposer or the demiurge depending on the moment. hand holes do not equal holy light and noble sacrifice in Deltarune. and also, Noelle gets pinned to a hand? not a cross. a hand. hands almost equal Gaster too. "beware the man who speaks in hands". the stuff about not being able to find your hand. apparently with some weird implication that Gaster took it or something. like, piercing your hand and becoming a Roaring Knight beyond the veil of darkness could be yet another way Gaster speaks through hands.
    apart from that I don't think we're supposed to read Noelle's suffering as meaningful, I can't disprove that she will die, or could die instead of Dess, or that this panel will confirm that Dess is not a man. all of those things are still possible. decent prediction.
