      my thought today: this is how I would feel if East German Christmas carols came up on a show like Drawn Together as a weird historical fact and casual comment they can make about an ethnicity without it being particularly offensive. many times funnier to bring up than the stereotype that 'Japanese people something something honor'. because like, the kind of person that thinks making Ling-Ling out of superficial stereotypes about Japan and China is funny definitely wouldn't know about this one and would be absolutely blindsided if it simply dropped in.
