  1. All human existence in industrial countries falls into the broad shape of either monarchy or settler-colonialism -> Existentialist rhetoric that "the capacity to choose otherwise" will fix literally everything drives me up the wall and has always felt like it made all of existence uniquely pointless, but I didn't quite have the words to express why. this should make people think twice. centralization versus decentralization isn't the kind of choice you think it is. it can be a choice of peace versus violence where because we were all so stupid and addicted to anything that looks like freedom we all immediately slammed the "violence" button and chose a world where people would constantly be judged and treated with prejudice, basically subjected to a lesser form of eugenics to decide what's allowed to exist and what has to get out of the way, and we all think it's normal and good.
I watched this one video recently where somebody hurled all the worst insults from 10 years ago at Pokémon. "pronounced redacted", "pronounced redacted", "gay", the video just barely stopped short of '(Negro)', "ghetto", "immigrant", or finding some creative way to insult Japan itself. all I could think was "I know this isn't serious, but man is our country pronounced redacted nazi. we really do start describing things in nazi terms when we want them gone." then I watched another video where somebody was calling out a professor for using AI, but it was like, the whole video was focused on the professor rather than the AI and this connotation of there being low-quality people, and despite it not using any particularly bad words it gave me the same gross feeling as the video that was actually using slurs. I swear, competition itself really destroys society. if Rhizome is things operating together and not destroying each other then the broad-scale regions of China are doing a better job at anarchism than anarchism.
  2. hmm. I know what would make me feel a bit better: figuring out how to make this metaphor into an Undertale AU so the point becomes really pronounced redacted clear. like what if the choice wasn't just whether to kill them to walk to the end. what if it had to do with freedom somehow and like if you break away from a state of peace and clear out the monsters then you're Free, and the game presents things like any ordinary person who has been filled with lots of Liberal-republicanism and Kantianism and Existentialism would totally want that unless they start thinking about it. undertale but it's told exactly the way an anticommunist fable is. undertale the anti- Third World propaganda edition. which I guess in a way is just some previously existing console RPGs. but no there has to be a way to more visually present the "antimonopoly", "antifascism"/"anti- generalized dictatorialness", "anti-un-freedom" constellation of values through the context of "competition" or breaking away from a workers' state being breaking away from peace and choosing active violence. I'll have to think about it.
