The "M" in "M3" stands for the Japanese word mondai (問題), which refers to a "problem" in senses that can include logic problems and math problems. (Other terms considered were "question", "problem", and shitsumon (質問), but these are already taken by Q Entities, Properties, and S1 Signifiers respectively.)
