monolithic Bolshevik Party [2] -> so apparently, "the monolithic Bolshevik Party" is a model where the Bolshevik Party contained one tendency of Marxism-Leninism rather than two would-be parties of mainstream Marxism-Leninism and Trotskyism that were slowly forming the whole time since around maybe 1906. ok, I'll let them have that one, because I've actually taken that position too. it's hard to explain why exactly Trotskyism came to exist and why it picked up across multiple countries even slowly if the CPSU really was "monolithic".
