- Each time Equestria was threatened, Twilight was always more important for defending it than Celestia / Celestia almost never helped in defeating these villains [1] -> that is a really insightful observation actually. it vaguely suggests that as Equestria continues to exist and has all kinds of threats thrown at it, there may be some kind of material difference between Celestia's regime and Twilight's regime as the princess of friendship. this observation alone doesn't provide any insight into why it is that Twilight might be more able to step up to defending Equestria. but it does make you think, and seriously ask what might be going on.

- Twilight Sparkle is the princess of the bourgeois estate -> I have never heard anyone else say this but I think it's possible to back this up. Equestria has a really unusual structure. it's full of small capitalism much like a modern Third-World country, not an actual feudal order that would have existed hundreds of years ago. so the power of Celestia as some kind of local-god or holy monarchy — officially she 'wields a basic force of nature as magic', but 'ruler representing local-god that might or might not be absorbed into larger kingdom' was always the connotation — and the power of the bourgeoisie are two separate things.
to understand Twilight you have to first ignore the "princess" thing and look at where Twilight gets her power. post season 4 we learn that Twilight is powerful partly because she can lead a bunch of individual ponies with cutie marks who are all united together. but the concept of cutie marks is explicitly connected with careers and economic output in the Starlight Glimmer plot. we are told that if ponies couldn't be skilled experts at something the economy would surely implode. there are other times this concept of cutie marks = businesses comes up too, though I couldn't think of all of them right now; the episode where Rarity is actually complaining about businesses getting bigger and assembly lines getting invented is one of them. so, anyway, the further you get through this show the more you start to see that the concept of Twilight uniting all the ponies of Equestria with each other is basically coming together and working because it's Twilight uniting the bourgeoisie. Twilight, with all her knowledge and all her reading, should be the one to bring bourgeois democracy to a feudal world, but for unknown reasons it still isn't ready for that, so instead, Twilight just unites all the bourgeoisie together and gets crowned the "princess of friendship".... of the bourgeois estate. Celestia and Luna seem to just let two estates coexist for a bit in a traditional estate system. and then at the end it seems they peacefully surrender and leave Equestria to become a weird bourgeois monarchy which did not create a Liberal republic.
I swear that US Tories' capital monarchy scheme just happened in this show without anybody noticing it or caring, either in universe or out of universe.
