Hackenbush is one of the simplest possible board games, used to show the connection between game theory and real numbers. This game involves players subtracting branches colored N or P to match the players (usually drawn as red or blue), or given no color (usually drawn in green). This game is interesting for the potential of green branches to generate a whole new line of numbers called the nimbers or star numbers.
