Help:Gadgets
MediaWiki has a feature for customizing various kinds of page functionality through individual tiny tweaks called Gadgets. These are generally optional, and can be enabled within user preferences.
Below is a clearer list of Gadgets currently available on this wiki and what each of them does. At the current time about half of them are related to formatting and half of them are related to accessibility.
Data tables[edit]
forward.css / wavebuild-forward[edit]
By default, pronounced Wavebuilder combinations and characterizations are ordered in the format that one would input them on a more strictly RDF-grounded statement database such as Wikidata. This Gadget reorders pronounced Wavebuilder combination rows into a format of A + B = C as in pronounced Wavebuilder dictionary files. It uses the CSS3 grid module, which you will want to keep in mind if you have an older computer.
shorthand.css / shorthand-rows[edit]
This Gadget collapses standardized collections of rows into their abbreviated form. Currently this only operates on Template:HuePalette.
Item swatches[edit]
colorblind.css / colorblind[edit]
This stylesheet redoes Item colors to be more distinguishable in a red/green colorblind palette. You may also find it appealing if you simply want more "vintage" colors, or want a beach theme.
colorblind2.css / colorblind-daltonized[edit]
The "regular" colorblind stylesheet is designed under a colorblind filter, and if you have full color vision requires a browser extension to properly test. This version of it shows the color the filter would show without needing an extension; you may use it to "experience" colorblind perception for extended periods without great effort. If and when you notice problems, what you should do is test colorblind.css, update that stylesheet, eyedrop the exact hex or HSL colors you see in your extension or color filter, and put the exact colors into this stylesheet.
M3-circle.css / M3-circle[edit]
This displays all Statement Item icons as circled Latin letters, instead of representing M3 Questions with a kanji. You may use it if you find this more consistent, or perhaps if you have a very old computer which fails to display the kanji.
