Usage notes[edit]

Although it is easy and frequent for science-fiction works to conflate populations and species, a "fictional population" refers to a physical grouping of individuals, and as such is different from the concept of a "species". In order to properly remember this, realize that any fictional species could consist of multiple fictional populations.
