prototype notes
jamming proposition used to get people to realize why "it's easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism". it's far harder to imagine anything actually having transitioned into or given rise to something else than it is to imagine that thing just being broken or gone. an end-of-the-world scenario is actually just the absence of civilization in the form of Social-Philosophical Systems, which in a sense has definitely been the case on earth before. all civilizations have not been before they've been, and in some cases they've also not been after they've been. in contrast, civilizations transitioning to new class compositions or fundamentally new structures has been rather rare. can most people without a biology or science education make reasonable guesses about the species that could descend from elephants, down to all the physiology and details that make up a Future Elephant, or is it easier to imagine a particular elephant being gone from a photograph, or a photograph of a dead elephant?
