Ontology talk:9k/RD/Q29,50/did-they-win429
It may sound cruel, but the top consideration to ask when advocating for 17-1800s people to side with North American tribes and try to reconstruct tribal society is: did they win?
The universe has no morality. A society that doesn't win against all the external forces attacking it becomes irrelevant to subsequent history and philosophical thought.
This is why seemingly "brutal" and "immoral" class societies are the ones that take over and become mandatory. Winning and morality are totally different things; wars and conflicts are physical objects smashing into each other before they have any cosmic or moral meaning. So what kinds of societies win has nothing to do with whether people "accept settler-colonial hierarchy" or 'side with the mean people with bad Ideals' and has more to do with _how many people they have_ (this would be a factor in why the Union defeated the Confederacy) and how effectively those people are organized.
The lesson you should be taking from these events is that getting a lot of Confederates into one region that consistently live there as bigots and have a solid border is inherently worth more in terms of winning and leaving a mark on history than any amount of ideology or "values". As to how you constructively apply this.... that's unclear. China, Cuba, Vietnam, and North Korea have stayed standing on account of firm borders and mostly not letting foreign capital come in and slurp up their land. Maybe there's a future in dividing the United States back into multiple countries on some other lines than the Confederate border and ensuring one of them is about 90% free of capitalists long enough that the remaining tiny islands of people can be successfully crammed into so-called "centralized" and "state-owned" official blocks of industry. Borders are a reality now. Appealing to tribal societies will not save anyone.
If that above observation _wasn't_ true, the Soviet Union would have won the Cold War and Liberal-republican governments would have been exterminated.
And every school in South America might already be teaching people about Che Guevara.
