Contemplating the best way to specify a simple-language subtag across all languages. I thought "-simple" was a thing that was registered. Turns out it's not? The way it really works is every language has its own specific subtags. This is awesome for historical variants of languages, but not so great for the concept of simple variants of every language. English does have "-basiceng", but there is no good option for Japanese. Maybe... could we just use "-pona"? That's silly, but it totally gets the point across. Toki pona is honestly much better as a language tag than it is as its own language. You can use any language as long as you only use a couple thousand words. — R.D. (talk) 12:32, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
