Description

This is a template for rendering phrases in all caps while making the page source screen-reader friendly by putting the all-caps phrase strictly in sentence case.

This was created specifically to work around bugs where screen readers would spell out capitalized text letter by letter, which mainly seem to happen in older versions of either iOS or Mac OS. What appears to be the case is that if your computer actually has these bugs, it is difficult to properly fix them with anything standard which will not require user intervention. You will have to go into Preferences and activate a Gadget to change all of these "caps" tags to lowercase, or make use of a user style sheet.
(Note that while this project is in an early phase where only a few people are still laying out the basics, if you end up needing a wiki account purely to turn on screen reader preferences, you will be granted one. You are not required to edit any pages.)

Parameters

• tts - Pronunciation for capitalized text. Optional; include if and when the un-capitalized text needs a pronunciation. Specify this first so that if screen readers are attempting to edit a page as plain text the TTS-friendly text is said before the "irrelevant" visual text.
• 1 - Text to be emphasized or stylized.
