User:Reversedragon/MetatransitionalFantasy
This is a thesis portal for various prose or script story posts I have been writing, all within the theme of either meta-transitional realism or meta-transitional fantasy — stories where named Bolshevisms or other post-capitalist ideologies emerge and exist within a non-utopian context. In a word, it's like science fiction, except you replace "hard science" with "meta-Marxism". Sometimes these are "original" stories. Sometimes these are based on existing fictional universes, either in order to present a fairly unironic vision of fictional histories going differently, or to present a somewhat more satirical, "meta" angle on the existence of media series in general within capitalism.
In either case I have a very bad track record with regard to finishing things, so a lot of the time I just write various outlines of how things should go if I actually finished them. I usually do this with the intention that at least a few of them might eventually get finished. Either way, here are my various meta-transitional-realist visions of hypothetical realities, which I hope you get something out of.
Original[edit]
- Gramsci's miracle (?/?) - A horror story idea meant to be in the same vein as r/nosleep. Antonio Gramsci gets a great idea, after which Liberal countries are thrown into great confusion and the world is never the same.
- Ironblood School of Forces and Oppositions (?/?) - given that this could be its own whole series of books or stories if it's finished, it will get its own thesis portal later.
Fan / crossover material[edit]
- "Escape from the SSSR" (abandoned draft, pronounced 2024/4) - I try to envision what it would be like if Starlight Glimmer was a historically accurate portrayal of Bolshevism. Starlight flees a place called the Stellar Single-Soul Republics (the SSSR), and Twilight ends up having to persuade her to not give up on her dreams and to go back to build a better workers' state.
- My Own Unicorn (?/?) - an unfiction mascot-horror story about the alternate timeline where Tokidoki Unicorno had a very bizarre TV show. I shouldn't say a lot more because finished or not, everything in here is far funnier taken in context.
- Undertale REDACTED (?/?) - working mostly from what was known from Undertale before Deltarune released, I try to imagine the forgotten story of a certain Amalgamate and its ties to Gaster. most of this is just Undertale theories, except for the surprising appearance of a forgotten group of Phoenix monsters who were attempting to form a Communist party. I also sketch out some possible ideas for adapting the Undertale setting into the Aurora system of card game rules, which was meant to be used for meta-transitional fantasy premises such as Ironblood; in my mind, that was a possible way this story could become a retro game adaptation.
- Sunny Rooster (?/?) - FNaF; an alternate timeline parallel to Security Breach where William Afton's influence is finally wiped out thanks to a Communist revolution. but, the horrors are still not over, because the two rival Marxist societies that have formed are each on edge about the other movement secretly sending in wreckers.
- Darkstalker does absolutely nothing [scrap] (?/?) - Wings of Fire; Darkstalker somehow discovers that violence is unnecessary and the best timeline is to live by himself and be a Proudhonist. the dragonets of destiny are still outraged that he would choose not to help anyone.
- SCP-NN44 "Another world is possible" - I am not that good at "SCP investigations" but SCP-6659 really got my gears turning
- Rainbow Phoenix (?/?) - an alternate vision of Dragon Ball I dreamed up around nonsensical Infinite Craft elements because I was bored. the main conceit is that it's like you took Dragon Ball Super and totally replaced "universes" with "timelines". there's also same-sex relationships, and Communist parties. and a number of jokes about Dragon Ball characters not understanding the cosmic Cold War scenario they're in although it rages on. it's really simple until it's not.
- Kirin Cross (?/?) - the successor to Rainbow Phoenix, where timeline 7A ends up in a terrible fate but all is not lost because this time Trunks exists.
Parodies of anticommunist fables[edit]
These were intended to be videos that I then just never made, so they're not necessarily very in-depth.
- (i do not remember the title of this) (?/?) - I try to imagine an alternate version of The Giver where the "weird, dystopian" society was clearly founded by Trotskyists and subsequently anarchists try to break the whole thing apart but end up making even worse decisions than the Trotskyists did
- 'a better 1984' (?/?) - I attempted to do the same thing with 1984 but it was a little bit of a mess, so I doubt there is any getting finished for that one
- 'a better The Trotsky' (?/?) - young Leon Bronstein realizes he is just like Trotsky, and then proceeds to do something more analogous to what Trotsky actually did.
- Theo and Carla (?/?) - a response to the PragerU series Leo and Layla, where the time travel device is not working quite right and the kids keep end up "accidentally" meeting Communists. I had such great images of this in my head, I thought it would be just unbelievably funny, but unfortunately I really didn't have quite enough factual history research to finish any of the "episodes". Tip: it's a lot harder to write an actual semi-nonfiction history skit than to simply, say, imagine a fake socialist transition in the universe of Dragon Ball. Or to write a historical fiction book where you try very hard on accuracy for a few things but otherwise most of the events are made up.
