* golem - hmm. should have fusions made out of more diverse kinds of rocks
* worm - damn i always loved this one haha
** worm becomes a random monster in MF1 but beaclon in MF2
* raoo(?) [ape] - i hate this thing but the mandrill colours are good. also it was apparently the reason the magic banana ~~(magical, not majin.)~~ even existed
* ghost - happens when short-lived monsters get pissed off and possess living ones
* henger - 'take a monster with high INT and a clay doll to read the ancient tablet'; small red ring appears on monster. apparently is a legitimate cyborgification of existing monsters
** possibly same for 'nya' and dakkun
* majin - possibly once lived in jungle region. but that's incidentally also where the ape is from yikes.

* durahan
** The Dullahan is depicted as a headless rider - mumen rider Way before mumen rider.
** originally this name was supposed to be for 'grim reaper but cooler'?? Joker is much easier to call a dullahan than this one...
** 'golden objects can force the dullahan to disappear' lol is this why there's a golden peach?? maybe it's a coincidence but it's funny

* baku
** claimed to be the tapir being originally, though i can't confirm that's true

* 'chuckie'
** in the original horror movies, a serial killer inhabiting a doll
** said to be a breeder killed by monsters that really hates them. which is pretty funny actually. why isn't this guy just like, the vanguard against moo. most dumb annoying monster in the game nobody really likes makes you fuckin cry because much like the ""dullahan"", he doesn't follow what he's supposed to be at all and is actually a good dude
** might or might not live 12 years for specific reasons. the gap between the two movies IS coincidentally 12 years but it's unclear if that's actually the refrance

* zilla - there is like no fucking way to improve on 'gujira' that's godzilla if it was literally its name. there just isnt.
** other than like, make an Appealing thing that sits at the bottom of the ocean a la Lugia

* metalner
** hinted to have come from a place like "metaluna" (1955)
** i find it funny how much this movie is focused on specific models of aircraft. there are like 3 really specific planes in it.
** also how the opening plot of ultraman joneus is so halfway similar but only halfway. we have a) aliens protect earth from attack b) human goes to alien planet c) alien planet is under attack d) aliens are planning to leave home and colonise earth [in joneus they did in the past instead of the present but yeah]

* 'arkero'
** "仙人 - immortal mountain wizard (in Taoism)" this definition makes it sound cooler than it is, when in reality, kato/'arkero' is probably a fair critique.
** it /might/ be named for Acheron as the river in front of hades, but that doesn't quite make sense when it's not the river of forgetting
** it seems the olive oil thing may be entirely made up??
** i like that apparently its legendary/rogue form consumed 'forbidden wine' in basically this odd pun on 'forbidden' for magic reasons and Prohibitionists getting upset about absinthe
