rather than the moment on a kaiju mystery episode where the woman gives way to this disgustingly underhanded looking non-human monster that's just a fox that could kill someone

maybe I should mark out a 'majin category' in the strain chart corresponding to which mf strains were associated with Majin but now meaning more which ones are associated with humanoid forms

to be honest it's kind of boring when canids are evil, and it almost reads like a weird metaphor for dehumanizing people you don't trust, in and of itself
where are the stories about foxes turning into humans only to behave very stupidly a bit like how real foxes or dogs go springing around and try to tear apart or eat objects they shouldn't. you have to imagine many of them are not malicious but just really want to get away with messing around and behaving like an animal in exactly the way they know they're forbidden to
this almost makes me feel like the fox should take the place of 'arkero', this no-good although lovable being that ranges from shoe destroyer to drunk failed Sennin and you're asked to put through training to become something greater

if you meet some particular requirement to go over the dragon gate or whatever

Kyouze Kyoudaze Kyouyo Kyouda
Itsuka becomes Kyōda.

Kyōda is like, a fox that half became a tengu but not exactly
the top part of it is this bird-like cloak and maybe it has wings
what the cloak looks like is how a fox might be constructed for an old stage peformance, it doesn't quite look like the face is real and it might be part of the cloak
nonetheless you can immediately see this is a powerful being, where the cloak is a mark of its unseen power ready to burst from inside

I think the cloak is blue like a swallow   [23-9-15A]
I don't know why swallow is the first thing I think of but now I think it does the tsubamegaeshi as one of its moves, this is Kojirō fox
it has a split tail with two ends, like a swallow, or an ancient fox in progress

I like how inherently this feels like it could be /either/ a respectable hero or a formidable rival character
literally, "while you were being the hero I studied the blade"
and it's kind of your choice which of those it will be
