Dialectical materialism is used to examine the stated facts within any given philosophy or apparent form of Marxism. As such, it has an inherently "meta-Marxist" character: if a Stalin-follower or Maoist states incorrect facts or models, and the dialectical-materialist method shows those facts to be wrong, it will superficially appear to have "refuted Marxism" by selecting one group of Marxists' facts over another.
