Usage notes[edit]

Color swatch[edit]

Deng Xiaoping Thought now uses the strawberry color swatch beside the philosophy tag DX. This choice of swatch color is not meant to be any kind of statement that Deng Xiaoping Thought is historically a sub-section of the Western Marxist tradition. However, the reason the two different Marxisms use the same swatch has to do with surface similarities within the shapes of each ideology when they are actually practiced. The Gramscian section of Western Marxism largely bases itself in the concept of hegemony politics — the strategy of covering the country in individual Gramscian Marxists and non-Marxist Gramscian allies to more or less defend the physical borders of a progressive movement from small-scale reactionary attacks that attempt to break up an overall movement before a nation-wide social-democratic party can be formed. Meanwhile, Deng Xiaoping Thought begins from an existing Third World country and creates industrial development within that country in order to secure the borders of the country population so that First World empires in particular will not be able to interrupt the potential development of material structures designed by Marxist theorists or a social movement toward Bolshevism within the country. In this sense both ideologies at least outwardly appear to have a strong theme of "populational borders" and trying to use capitalist-styled economic development or the strategic placement of bourgeoisie belonging to a particular ethnicity, nationality, or political faction into particular business territories in order to stall the advance of imperialism from outside a particular socially-linked collection of people into that population.
